Château Saint-Martin de la Garrigue
Located near the Mediterranean Sea in Montagnac, Château Saint-Martin-de-la-Garrigue has 63 hectares of vineyards surrounded by 110 hectares of pine woodland, garrigue scrubland and olive groves. The vines thrive on two distinct soil types: red sandy-gravel soils over sandstone, and brown calcareous soils over soft limestone.
Steeped in history, the estate is centred on a ninth-century Romanesque chapel and a Renaissance château, largely built in 1557, which has been remodelled and restored over the centuries.

Soil: Brown sandy-gravel soils over calcareous sandstone.
Tasting notes: Deep, intense purple in colour. A powerful nose reveals notes of candied prune, coffee, toasted almonds and caramel. The palate combines length and power with velvety tannins and rich, complex notes of liquorice, orange peel, truffle and spice.
Serve between 16 and 18°C. To appreciate its full aromatic complexity, open the bottle in advance to allow the wine to breathe, or, better still, decant before serving.
Food pairings: This wine pairs perfectly with red meats in sauce, game and strong cheeses. An ideal match for traditional Mediterranean home cooking.
